October 3 - Financial Times (Saskia Scholtes and Michael Mackenzie): "Companies are selling US high-grade bonds in record amounts, putting the market on track for its first $1,000bn year and suggesting better-rated issuers are finding ways around the credit squeeze. Analysts say the growing popularity of investment-grade bonds is a consequence of the difficulties companies are having to sell commercial paper - shorter-term, floating-rate debt...

Humiliation for Edwards

Two non-political people have now asked me out of the blue who Clinton's new girlfriend is. Three and it's a Trend. ... P.S.: The ad links to a highly speculative (i.e. no evidence) but informative piece on Belinda Stronach. Most people probably don't click on it, and just absorb the salacious headline, giving the former president the presumption of guilt he has repeatedly earned. ... The Larger Point! There would seem to be potential for some highly efficient under-Radar Swift-boating here. ERIC WESTON: Surgery sidelines AHS bowler

This week has been a slow week because of Thanksgiving break. I have come up with a sad story about a young man who will be out of action for quite a while with season-ending surgery. Kyle Leathers, a senior at Anderson High School who started bowling years ago at East Side Lanes and now is a four-year veteran of the high school team, is having surgery this next week and will be out for a long time. In fact, he will be bedridden for several weeks.

Oilers shocked by Lightning in Tampa

Martin St. Louis had a goal and two assists to give Tampa Bay a 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers that was the Lightning's third straight overall, renewing hope for a playoff bid despite their position at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.

"I felt they needed to do that," Lightning coach John Tortorella said. "Not just look at your record, look where you're at in regards to everybody else. There are so many teams fighting the way we are."

The Lightning built a 4-1 lead, but goals by Steve Staios and Ales Hemsky late in the third period turned up the heat.
