| Diverse campaign strikes chord on campus
Post student Atinuke Awoyomi and several others at the Brookville campus say the national debate has overlooked the most exciting part of the campaign: the inspirational effect.
Awoyomi, 20, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Nigeria, says the viability of Clinton and Obama makes the Democratic race inspiring, particularly for a new American like she. "For now, we don't know who's going to win the ticket," said Awoyomi, who lives with her family in Elmont. "I was just telling my dad ... that we have a woman candidate and a black candidate. I think it's really making people think about America in a new way. I think it's going to change the politics of America. It's going to change everything."

Tieben family run a My-D Han-D business
I first met Daryl Tieben a couple years ago at the state fair. He and his family run a Dodge City business called My-D Han-D (Mighty Handy) that manufactures grain handling and livestock equipment. As we passed their booth at the fair, I noticed a nice display of binoculars and rifle scopes for sale. Grain handling equipment and binoculars seemed like an odd combination to me, and sure enough, I stopped to look. The binoculars and scopes were of nice quality and priced very reasonably, so I took his business card and moved on. Later that fall, on our way to hunt deer at Meade, we phoned Daryl, who happily met us at the shop on Saturday. He explained the binoculars were originally a way to help with expenses at farm shows and such, and have now become a source of college funds for the kids who usually handle their sales, so we bought two pairs and went on our way.

Bradley Central Claims Mat Title
In Friday's Region 3 Duals at Cleveland Middle School, Bradley will face Cookeville, while District 5 champ Cleveland takes on Walker Valley. The winners then wrestle for the Region 3 title and a place in the state duals in Clarksville, Feb. 1-2. The runner-up travels to the Region 4 runner-up on Saturday for the state wild card spot.
In Tuesday's win (starting at 119), Bradley claimed the first 10 weights to lead, 45-0, before Walker Valley's Isaiah Simpson defeated Blake Higgins, 7-4.
"Bradley is a very good team and is worthy of the No. 2 state ranking,'' said Mustangs coach Alan Morris. "And even though the score may not indicate it, I think this match was one of our best efforts at Walker Valley."
"I felt that Adam Gordy wrestled well, giving (Logan) Biddy all he wanted for six minutes and Isaiah Simpson continues to improve in all areas as a wrestler."
