| Mosley brings tireless work ethic to Terps
It wasn't an issue of last-minute jitters or second thoughts. Mosley, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound shooting guard, had gone over this decision what seemed like a million times in his head -- and it made plenty of sense. There was available playing time. There was the veteran coach who had already won a championship and the young assistant who had experienced many of the same things, growing up in Baltimore, which he had. There was location. There was family. There was comfort. All factors pointed to the same decision, to one school. .
Demon with a Glass Hand
Only Harlan Ellison could've thought it up. He sued the makers of "The Terminator" because it was cribbed from his OL story "Soldier"; amazingly, he never got around to suing the makers of "Die Hard" which bears more than a passing resemblance to "Demon with a Glass Hand". .
What N.H. taught us
The other GOP campaigns can't stand him either. The voters of New Hampshire heeded the advice of the Concord Monitor, which urged them to "see through the baloney." Apparently Mitt didn't slice his baloney thick enough. After he grabbed eight whole delegates in the Wyoming caucuses, the next stop on Mitt's Lose-a-Palooza tour is Michigan, where his father was governor 40 years ago. The governor of Massachusetts 40 years ago was Endicott Peabody. Remember him? I didn't think so. The two biggest newspapers in Michigan have already endorsed John McCain, and the Detroit Free Press revealed that Mitt's claim to have seen his father marching with Martin Luther King Jr. was completely manufactured. Romney's is a candidacy of contrivance, consultants, cash, and cynicism.
Real cards are part of Christmas
And like a stout character from a Dickensian scene on one of his own products he states: "The greetings card is part of Christmas as much as turkey." Clinton Cards is named after Clinton Lewin but he did not found the firm. His father Don, son of an East End chimney sweep who moved to the suburbs, founded the company in 1968 and named it after his seven-year-old son - who was named after Clint Walker, the cowboy actor in the television series Cheyenne. Clint Eastwood, it seems, had yet to make an impact in Epping. Don Lewin's daughter, Debbie, was born that year too, but in a man's world, the boy's name went on the store front. "I hadn't thought of that," says Lewin. It is a subject they can bring up at the next board meeting: Don is still chairman and Debbie, despite tut-tutting from the corporate-governance zealots, is product-development director.

Lowell is poster boy for Sox success
He was the addendum for acquiring an ace like Josh Beckett for a prospect like Hanley Ramirez. If the Sox didn't have a hole at third base after Bill Mueller's move out west, it might have been the deal breaker.Thank you, Bill Mueller.nnnLowell wonders what the big deal is about the 2007 regular season, when he hit .324, 21 homers and a career high 130 RBIs. It included a fourth trip to the All-Star game.Well, he doesn't wonder, per se, but he wishes people, including baseball people that "know" the game, would accept 2005 for what it was."When somebody screws up everybody is looking for that answer," said Lowell, after yesterday's workout. "They don't want to hear you might have a bad year, when nothing went right. That's not a good enough answer. But in my case, I think it was. I stunk and never got going."Yes, "stunk" is a good description considering the fact he was a three-time All-Star who batted .236 with eight homers and 58 RBI.
